In 2000, Dr. Wayne Hurst relocated his family to Austin, Texas and founded Foot Specialists of Cedar Park and in 2006 Foot Specialists of Georgetown. Since that time, Dr. Hurst has established one of the premiere podiatric practices in Central Texas and continues to provide advanced comprehensive surgical and non-surgical treatment of foot and ankle conditions and disorders.
While completing undergraduate studies at Northern Arizona University and obtaining a B.S. in Chemistry, Dr. Hurst worked as an EMT on the ambulance service at the Flagstaff Medical Center. He completed his podiatric medical school training in Chicago, Illinois at the Dr. W.M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in 1991.
Dr. Hurst performed his podiatric surgical residency in Dallas, Texas where he received extensive experience and training with many renowned Foot and Ankle, Hand, Orthopedic and Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Hurst feels the knowledge, experience and surgical skills he gained from working with these experts in their respective specialties has had a great bearing on the success of his practice and his ability to treat the many pediatric, adolescent and adult foot and ankle disorders that he sees daily.
Dr. Hurst has special interests and experience in pediatric and adult flat feet, surgical reconstruction, bunion correction and chronic heel pain treatment. This interest and experience also extends to rather new and innovative non-surgical treatments for chronic foot pain such as Shockwave Therapy, PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) treatment and Adult Stem Cell Therapy. He can also provide computer-generated Custom Orthotics to help treat chronic foot pain.
Committed to maintaining the highest levels of accreditation, Dr. Hurst pursues ongoing education to stay abreast of cutting edge technologies and new treatment modalities in podiatry and podiatric surgery.
His warm, caring, and friendly personality allows him to effectively communicate and partner with his patients to provide them with the choices and the treatment options that are available.
Dr. Hurst enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters and is active with them in church activities, scuba diving, water and snow skiing, and traveling. Dr. Hurst and his two daughters are avid hunters and enjoy the outdoors.
